How much should I pack for 3 months in Ireland?
I will be staying in Northern Ireland for 3 months (May – July). Belfast will be my homebase. For one week I will be doing a motorcycle tour of the west coast. I have heavy motorcycle gear (helmet, jacket with armor, textile pants with armor, and boots). This takes up around 22lbs.
Therefore, I have to be very selective with my clothing/shoes. Total baggage allowance is 50lbs. This leaves only 28lbs. I’m at my wits end at how much to pack! I don’t want to exceed my limit.
Just keep it to the basics. Two -three pairs of jeans, a couple pairs of shorts, a few t-shirts, one long sleeve shirt, one sweater/jacket, one pair of pants/khakis. Several changes of socks, underwear. Just assume you’ll do laundry one a week or so. You can wear your heaviest items for the flight.
Put it all in your suitcase and weigh it on a home scale…that will be accurate enough to be a guide.
