Am I a Good Loyal American?

My car was made in Japan, my motorcycle was made in Japan. All of my tools were made in China and Taiwan, almost all my clothes were imported. I phoned Mason Shoe Co. and asked for American shoes. They have none, so I bought shoes made in China. All my wife’s appliances were made in China or Mexico. Today I went to the grocery stone and searched for American apple juice. They have none, only juice from China. I buy my electricity from Rockey Mountain Power, owned by Scotland.

Well since almost everything here these days comes from other countries, you really have no choice but to buy those products. “Made in USA” products are becoming rare, and as they become more rare, they become more expensive. The CEO’s of corporate America are not interested in the welfare of our own country, they’re interested in making more money for themselves and their company and will outsource as long as it’s cheaper for them, but we as consumers are also partly to blame. The obsession for “Everyday Low Prices” comes from greed and the desire for more. We’re obsessed with low prices in America and we’ll do whatever it takes to get those low prices, and as a result of our shopping spree’s to Wal-Mart to buy more and more useless crap to fill our homes, we’re allowing countries like China to become rich and powerful, and that could one day come back to haunt us. We all know gas prices have been going up, we’ve all heard the whining, but did you know we actually have the lowest gas prices in the western world? In some parts of Europe they pay over $10 a gallon. Can you imagine that here? There would be riots! So instead of sending money over to hostile nations like Saudi Arabia for our oil, why aren’t we drilling for more oil on our own land when we know we can, why aren’t we developing a plan to become self sufficient? Oh that’s right … because our politicians think it’s “too expensive”.
