Painting a motorcycle helmet?
Couple questions about this:
1 – I read in the manual that you’re not supposed to paint or put stickers on the helmet.
I’m sure that certain paints might do some damage, but aren’t there paints out there that you could use on a helmet and be fine?
If so, what kind of paints should I look for?
3 – i got one with graphics (sort of) with the bike…is that a problem?
2 – I’ve seen a few good custom motorcycle helmets on the internet, but if anybody as any links to some, I’d really appreciate it.

I think your biggest concern is going to be gettin good adhesion. As far as the paint affecting the effectiveness of the helmet in a crash, I wouldn’t worry.
Youe best bet would be to call your local auto color (paint) store and ask them. They will want to know what you are painting so if you don’t know about the material of the helmet you might need to take it up there. You may also need an adhesion promoter to use as well as the paint to make sure ti sticks well.
Your concern with the graphics (decals), I assume you are wondering about painting over them. I wouldn’t. It’ll most likely look bad and you’ll have a hard time getting the paint to stick well.
Call and/or go by a local body shop or auto paint store and ask te painter there. Take the helmet with you.
